About This Contest

The National Science Olympiad 2025 is Bangladesh's premier science competition for Class VIII–X students, organised by the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences in partnership with the Ministry of Education. Now in its 18th year, the olympiad draws participants from all 64 districts of Bangladesh.

The competition tests students across three core disciplines: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The format begins with a district-level written examination, followed by a practical lab round, and culminates in the national final held in Dhaka.

πŸ“‹ Rules & Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria
  • Students must be currently enrolled in Class VIII, IX, or X in a recognised institution.
  • Each student may register for only one subject stream (Physics/Chemistry/Biology).
  • Maximum 5 students per school per class can be registered.
  • Students must have a valid student ID and attendance above 75% in current session.
  • Students who won Gold in the previous year are not eligible for the same category.
Exam Rules
  • No electronic devices (calculators, mobile phones) allowed in the written round unless specified.
  • Students arriving 15+ minutes late will not be admitted to the exam hall.
  • Admit card and school ID must be presented at the venue.
  • Cheating or misconduct results in immediate disqualification and a 3-year ban.
  • Results are final once published; no re-checking is available for the MCQ round.
School Responsibilities
  • Schools are responsible for ensuring student eligibility before registration.
  • The designated school coordinator must accompany students to all rounds.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable after the deadline.
  • Schools must confirm student availability before the national final invitation.
